Texas Fine Wine representatives from 2023 Retrospective and Perspective

Texas Fine Wine launched as a new marketing initiative in 2014 to promote their award-winning wines as some of the best in the state and their wineries as top wine tourism destinations. The group includes wineries Bending Branch Winery in Comfort, Duchman Family Winery in Driftwood, Pedernales Cellars in Stonewall, and Spicewood Vineyards in Spicewood.

The wineries take great pride in sourcing grapes from estate vineyards as well as working with some of the best growers around the state to secure exceptional fruit. Their experienced winemakers seek to make world-class wines that reflect the climate, terroir, and spirit of Texas. As a result, Texas Fine Wine wineries have collectively been awarded hundreds of medals from some of the most prestigious wine competitions in the United States and internationally.

Texas Fine Wine will be celebrating their 10th year anniversary with the second annual Retrospective and Perspective tasting event on Saturday, February 3rd at Spicewood Vineyards. The event will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

“We are proud to have played a role in establishing Texas as a respected wine region known for its diversification, sophistication and caliber of wines,” said Julie Kuhlken, co-founder and CEO of Pedernales Cellars. “Our Retrospective and Perspective tasting is our premier event to showcase the ageability, history, and quality of our wines.”

During this special event, winemakers and owners from Bending Branch Winery, Duchman Family Winery, Spicewood Vineyards, and Pedernales Cellars will each showcase a library wine, current release, and barrel sample. This educational tasting will explore different vintages, varieties, vineyard practices, and winemaking techniques that showcase the wide diversity of styles and expressions of Texas wine.

Tickets for the Retrospective and Perspective tasting event can be purchased on the Spicewood Vineyards website.

Texas Fine Wine also gave their 2023 year in review. Some of the items discussed was how 2023 was one of the longest harvests in history, the quality of the fruit, new grape varieties being planted, and new grape growing regions. We recommend reading their 2023 year in review.
