Texas Wine Revolution (TWR), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is proud to announce that their inaugural Texas Wine Auction raised a total of $130,000 through donations made through ticket sales and during the live and silent auctions that took plac`e between April 7-10, 2022, including prizes such as rare wines, curated experiences, and grand travel packages. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Hill Country Memorial Foundation and an endowment to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Viticulture & Fruit Lab.
The Texas Wine Auction was developed to bring together a collective of Texas wineries and winemakers to showcase the beauty of Texas-grown wine and raise money for some incredible organizations. On April 9, a total of 150 wine enthusiasts came together in Fredericksburg, Texas for an evening of dazzling wine auction lots including a silent auction that took place over the span of four days from April 7 through April 10, music performances provided by The Powell Brothers, and culinary delights with wine pairings presented by award-winning chefs and top winemakers from all over Texas.
“It was truly a remarkable feeling to have some of the best wineries and chefs across Texas brought together under the same roof to raise money for such great causes,” said Chris Brundrett, President of Texas Wine Revolution and Co-Founder of William Chris Wine Company. “Our first Texas Wine Auction was such a success, and we are tremendously proud of the support we received and the amount raised that will aid in our mission to make an impact on the Texas Hill Country hospitality and Texas wine communities.”

Beneficiaries of the event included Hill Country Memorial Foundation, which will establish a medical mobile unit providing wellness services throughout the Hill Country for underserved populations including employees of restaurants, wineries, vineyards, and other hospitality personnel. In addition, an endowment to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Viticulture & Fruit Lab will help with research and development to further the Texas wine industry.
“We were blown away by all the support and generosity we received from our friends as they helped such a great cause in its first year,” said Dave Bryant, Texas Wine Auction Co-Founder and 2022 Auction Chair. “I can’t thank them enough and know that they’ll be there to continue the support in years to come.”
The success of the inaugural Texas Wine Auction was made possible by community members coming together to support their mission of providing the hospitality industry with easy access to simple medical care and to fund the growth of the Texas wine industry to create new opportunities for local residents, Texas wine enthusiasts, and further Texas wine. More than fifteen wineries participated, including 2022 featured winery, William Chris Wine Company (producer of 100% Texas-grown wines from William Chris Vineyards and Lost Draw Cellars), along with Arché Wines, Becker Vineyards, Brennan Vineyards, CALAIS Winery, Flat Creek Estate, Float Wines, Frio Canyon Vineyard, Hawk’s Shadow Winery & Vineyards, Hidden Hangar, Inwood Estates, Kalasi Cellars, Lost Oak Winery, Reddy Vineyards, Sandy Road Vineyards, Texas Heritage Vineyard, Texas Wine Collective, Westcave Cellars, and Yoder Cellars.
“The opportunity to be involved with such an amazing cause and event that will not only help our local community but further Texas wine is an absolute pleasure,” said presenting sponsor Dr. Robert Ebeling III of the Friendship Lane Center for Cancer. “I was proud to have Friendship Lane Center for Cancer as Presenting Sponsor and even more excited to be the winning bidder of the 15L custom etched bottle. It’s a great addition to my cellar and will always hold a special place in my heart for helping the up-and-coming Texas wine leaders at Texas Tech University AgriLife Extension.”
Out-of-this-world cuisine wine pairing tastings were presented by some of Texas’ most renowned chefs during the lively evening. Thank you to notable Dallas-native chef Casey Thompson, Austin-based chefs Todd Duplechan of Lenoir and Shane Stark of Mongers Market + Kitchen, as well as chef John Boehm of Otto’s German Bistro and chef Michael Hall of Hill & Vine. Attendees were also able to join participating wineries on Friday night for special events, exclusive winemaker dinners, and tastings, all of which were separately ticketed from Saturday’s Texas Wine Auction. In addition, thank you to our hotel partner Stonewall Motor Lodge who provided accommodations for our guests, and Texas Wine Tours who provided complimentary transportation pick-up points around Fredericksburg for ticket holders.
